Young people projecting the future hosted by Villa Castello Torrazzetta

10-11-12 November 2019

A full immersion of three days in Oltrepò Pavese for the Youth Bank

Hills and green landscapes of Oltrepò have been the true inspiration for fifty young people from 16 to 24 years old, coming from Como and Lecco provinces and Valle d’Aosta. From 10th to 12th November they were hosted by Villa Castello Torrazzetta to design a more sustainable and responsible future.

For the third consecutive year, Youth Bank – Non Uno di meno, the important project by Fondazione Provinciale della Comunità Comasca (i.e. Foundation of Como Province Community), chose the historic mansion in Borgo Priolo for three poignant days focused on new generations’ issues such as young people at risk, non-completion of school, alienation.

The first workshop, Sunday 10th, was opened by Dr Erasmo Dallavalle MD, President of Don Niso Dallavalle Foundation, who pointed out Don Niso commitment to education and against early leaving of school. The morning went on with the greetings of Dr Alessandro Cattaneo MP and Professor Renata Crotti. Then it touched the core values of Youth bank with the speeches of Dr Giacomo Castiglioni, former president of Fondazione Provinciale della Comunità Comasca, Dr Berardino Casadei, who spoke about the concept of giving, and the director Paolo Lipari.

The three days, in such an exclusive and historical location – Villa Castello Torrazzetta, gave the attendees the opportunity to identify projecting tools useful for their communities. In fact, the objective is to discuss, to design and, finally, to implement solidarity activities able to last for the society. This was a unique and innovative occasion, born from the alliance between public and private institutions: young people thus become leading forces of a new “generative welfare” paradigm.
